About Bobby Calebaugh Clark

Bobby Calebaugh Clark is a University of Illinois graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Music Education and a minor in Language Arts. Bobby, a Fox Valley native, attended West Aurora High School and performed under the direction of many talented local conductors including: Warren Felts, George Piechl, Dick Harrison, Ed Nelson, and Michael Fagan. Bobby continued to perform in many ensembles when at the University of Illinois. She belonged to the Large Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. Harry Begian, Marching Illini Pep Band under the direction of Dr. Gary Smith, several chamber groups and performed as a freelance artist.

Ms. Clark has been teaching French horn and Cornet for over 30 years. She has successfully placed students in the top bands at several local High Schools for many years. Her students consistently receive superior ratings at IMEA district Solo & Ensemble contests. Her philosophy of teaching is to tailor lessons to each individual student. She enjoys watching her students grow and learn. Bobby believes in giving her students a solid foundation, teaching the basics and expanding from there.

Bobby played principal horn with the Aurora Summer Concert Band (John Heath and Kevin Kaisershot- conductors), performed with several professional woodwind and brass ensembles, judged local Music Festivals, worked in the West Aurora Middle schools as a brass sectional teacher, and as a substitute Music teacher.

Ms. Clark has had the honor of studying privately with Nancy Fako (freelance hornist and author), Dr. Jan Bach (NIU horn instructor and composer), Thomas Holden ( U of I horn instructor), and attended master classes with Dale Clevenger (retired CSO principal horn).

Interests/Hobbies: Crafting, reading, spending time with her dog Ivy (a Great Pyrenees), and family-time with her two grown children Steve and Katie.
